Sleep Spots

Charlie likes to sleep on the couch but usually she's on the opposite side from me. But tonight, when it was almost time for bed, Charlie came over to look over my shoulder, but she ended up getting comfy and staying. I was studying so I was about to pull up the webcam and snap a picture of my purring cuddle buddy. But as cute as she was, her added weight started to hurt my shoulder and I had to shift her to the cushion behind me. It was really cute and her purrs are really loud. But then she tried to bite my hair bun, so that was a little annoying.
Goofy kitty on my shoulder

Night-night time yet? I've been really good all night! I haven't been obnoxious and meowing until now because now I'm really, really sleepy.

Fun with fuses

I don't like it when the throne room goes dark- not even my glow lights on either. It happened 3 times tonight too! The first time it happened, Whitney panicked a little since it was so sudden. I, of course, thought it was normal since I get left without lights all of the time while Whitney goes to class, but that's during the daytime. Whitney went to the stairs to see if the rest of the house went dark, but since it was just the basement she realized it was just a fuse.

I figured it was the fuse after I realized that the washer, dryer, and my TV were all on at the same time. I rarely have my TV on (read: I haven't turned my TV on since the Hail Mary replay last football season so it was set on ESPN), I figured it just over taxed the circuit. I was able to turn the bathroom light on (thank goodness!) and pulled a chair into the bathroom since the fuse box is above my eye level.

I helped! But apparently almsot tripping Whitney isn't really that helpful.

Not all of the labels made sense, but after a couple of attempts I realized it was the lower right handed switch and- voila!- lights! About 15 minutes later, and at another point in the laundry cycle I'm assuming, the lights went out again. I was able to flip the switch since the correct one is on the bottom, a wonderful silver lining! And then a third time the lights when out, but Zack had gone to a friend's house so I decided to move my study party to the upstairs living room and avoid the troublesome fuse until laundry was done.

I love the upstairs couch. I have my favorite spot on the couch so I can see most of the upstairs, the TV, and out two windows- the back door and front window. I like the squirrels a lot. But I love when Whitney is upstairs to snuggle with me too! And she gets bonus points if she brings these things called "notes" and "textbooks" for me to sit on. Those are really fun to lay on and sometimes I gnaw on the corners.

Girl Scout Cookies

I like to lick Girl Scout Cookies.

I'm ignoring Charlie right now. The little snot licked not one, but two cookies right before I ate them, and then tried to knock the box on the floor.

I think you're being mean. Cookies are delicious!

I know. Stop trying to eat my cookies!

New toys!!

Sorry, I can't type because I got new toys!

I've befriended a Petco employee who works in the cat section because I go there so often at roughly the same times. He gave me a coupon for 25% off of a cat toy today since I originally was just getting more food. There was a deal of buy 3 toys get one free so I got some new rattle mice that Char lovvvveeesss and opted for a crunch ball as my free item to see if picky-butt would like it. But then I realized that the coupon wouldn't apply to the mice and ball because they were already on sale, so I did what every cat owner should do: I got a laser pointer. Needless to say, Char is on new item overload. I haven't tried the laser pointer with her yet but when I do, I'll probably have to upload a video of her antics.

Must eat crunch ball.

Seven letters, starts with a "C"

College has seven letters, so does Charlie. I would prefer if Whitney paid more attention to me than college. But she says that she needs to get her degrees so she can get a job after graduation to pay for my food. I can understand that.

I've been back to the university for 3 weeks and it's already been a very crazy semester. I'm in 16 credit hours and taking Nutritional Anthro, Archaeological Theory, Trig, Enviro Geology, Enviro Engagement, and Climate in Crisis. It's the first time since freshman year of high school (back in 2007!) that I haven't been in a Spanish class and I really miss it.

Really? No Spanish class this semester? I couldn't tell. Your favorite thing to ask me is ¿QuĂ© quieres? (What do you want?) Is it not obvious enough? I want comida! (food) I'm still not quite used to getting half of my daily allowance in the morning and then the rest at night, but at least you feed me twice a day so I don't have to resort to being annoying at night.

I decided that my schedule is a little bit more consistent now that I'm not on break so to keep Char from waking me up at the crack of dawn with hunger I would give her half of her food when I wake up and the other around dinnertime to keep her semi-full overnight. So far it's helped a little and I also wake up at the same time every day so that keeps Char on a schedule too. But sometimes she finds it necessary to paw at my face at 7 am.

If you just gave me free reign to the food we wouldn't have this problem.

You also wouldn't be able to move because you'd have a jumbo tummy in your way and then you couldn't jump all over the shelves and nightstand.

I do like the nightstand. It's my favorite, but I don't like the alarm clock or your phone on there. I moved them for you though. Don't worry! And I help move the lamp into the correct position by batting at the shade, but that one is a floor lamp so it doesn't move to where my inner interior designer wants it. You should work on that for me.

I'm aware of your 6 am redesigning ambitions. But I think I'm going to win this battle by the simple fact that the lamp is bigger than you and you are easy to push to the floor while I'm half asleep.

I'm bigger than the shadowbox contents though! But you put them in a box and hid them from me. Not cool. I liked carrying the fuzzy chick around the room and putting it by the door to scare you into thinking there was a rat in the house at 6am.

Ha. That was not cool. I nearly screamed and woke the neighbors a county over.

Yeah you weren't too happy were you? But I did capture that dust bunny that fell from the ceiling when I climbed into the rafters. I'm a good attack cat!

If you say so Charlie!

I do say so and I'm queen so my word is law.
